The official full-length trailer has been released for Season 3 of "Star Trek: Discovery."
The streaming CBS science-fiction series, which stars Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead) as Michael Burnham, the fearless science first officer of the U.S.S. Discovery, picks up after the events of the Season 2 finale, in which Burnham and her fellow Discovery crew members have traveled 930 years into the future.
Now stuck in a dystopian future world where uncertainty is the only certainty, Burnham and her friends must team up with new allies to inject hope into a divided and polarized society.
British actor David Ajala (who recently played antihero Manchester Black in the CW series "Supergirl") has been added to the cast of Season 3, playing Cleveland "Book" Booker, a pessimistic scientist who befriends Burnham when she drops out of a wormhole and lands in the future.
Returning cast members include Doug Jones (as Command Saru), Anthony Rapp (as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (as Ensign Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (as Dr. Hugh Culber), with Michelle Yeoh (as Section 31 agent Philippa Georgiou) and comedian Tig Notaro (as Engineer Jett Reno), while new cast members include non-binary actor Blu del Barrio and trans actor Ian Alexander.

After making the jump in the second season finale, season three of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY finds the U.S.S. Discovery crew dropping out of the wormhole and into an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must together fight to regain a hopeful future.
