Andrea Riseborough plays a mind-hacking assassin in the new official trailer for the forthcoming twisty tech-horror "Possessor."

The "Mandy" actress stars as a highly-skilled corporate assassin who uses cutting-edge mind-control technology to penetrate the minds of her targets in this science-fiction-tinged psychological horror from visionary writer-director Brandon Cronenberg (son of legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg).

"Possessor" is Brandon Cronenberg's second feature film, following his 2013 body-horror debut "Antiviral."

In the movie, Riseborough's character is named "Tasya Vos." She works under the tutelage of a corporate mediator, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh.

When she is assigned to assassinate a wealthy businessman (played by Sean Bean), Tasya Vos hacks into the mind of the target's son-in-law, played by Christopher Abbott (from Vox Lux, Catch-22). But because his mind is hard to command, he soon regains control of his own mind. And he sets off to enact revenge on the woman who hacked his brain.

Co-starring Tuppence Middleton and Rossif Sutherland, "Possessor," which premiered to strong reviews earlier this year at Sundance, will open in select theaters and drive-ins on October 9th. An "Uncut" version of the film is expected to be released, as well.
