And though production is expected to resume next month, filmmaker Matt Reeves has decided to give DC Comics fans an early taste of the eagerly-awaited superhero movie "The Batman," for which footage has just debuted at the online event DC FanDome.

So, without further ado, feast your eyes at an early sneak-peek teaser for the new highly-anticipated Batman movie, which sees "Tenet" star Robert Pattinson as the iconic cape crusader.

Supposedly more interested in focusing on Batman's skills as a brilliant detective, but also a young crime fighter in his "Year Two" as a masked hero, this new version appears to be more grounded in reality, evoking the visual spirit of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films.

Pattinson leads the cast as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. He is joined by an all-star roster of actors, including Andy Serkis as loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth; Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin, and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.

Also included in the cast are John Turturro as Gotham mobster Carmine Falcone; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton aka The Riddler; Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson, and finally, Jeffrey Wright as detective James Gordon.

Directed by Matt Reeves (Dawn of... and War for the Planet of the Apes), and co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin (Project Power), "The Batman" is currently scheduled to be released in early 2022.
