Documentary filmmaker Garrett Bradley explores the disorganized and frustrating bureaucracy of America's broken penitentiary system by telling the incredibly intimate story of a working-class woman's 20-year-long fight to release her husband from prison.

Check out the official trailer for "Time," the new Sundance-winning documentary that chronicles a Louisiana woman's decades-long effort to free her incarcerated husband. Sibil "Fox" Rich is a loyal wife, a thriving businesswoman, and mother of six boys. For the last twenty years, Rich has been working tirelessly to reduce her husband's 60-year prison sentence. Throughout the decades, she had documented her fight on home videos.

Filmmaker Garrett Bradley, who took home a Directing Award at Sundance this year, used 20 years' worth of Rich's personal videos to craft an in-depth, black-and-white account of the legal ramifications and emotional separations of a close-knit family dealing with an incarcerated loved one.

Acquired by Amazon Studios, "Time" is scheduled to open in theaters on October 9th. It will then be released on Amazon Prime Video on October 23rd. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Fox Rich is a fighter. The entrepreneur, abolitionist and mother of six boys has spent the last two decades campaigning for the release of her husband, Rob G. Rich, who is serving a 60-year sentence for a robbery they both committed in the early 90s in a moment of desperation.

Combining the video diaries Fox has recorded for Rob over the years with intimate glimpses of her present-day life, director Garrett Bradley paints a mesmerizing portrait of the resilience and radical love necessary to prevail over the endless separations of the country's prison-industrial complex.
