Check out the new official trailer for Season 2 of "PEN15," the acclaimed Hulu comedy series from The Lonely Island, which is co-created by and stars real-life best friends Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle as semi-fictional versions of themselves as 13-year-old besties attending middle school.

Recent Emmy nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, "PEN15" takes place in the early 2000s and is inspired by Maya and Anna's real-life middle-school stories about growing up in middle-class suburbia.

Though they are in their 30s, Maya and Anna play two socially awkward 7th-grade best friends in this kooky coming-of-age comedy about the joys and emotional difficulties of adolescence. Maya and Anna also interact with real 13-year-old kid actors, which make their performances more absurd, in a strange and hilarious way.

Executive produced by Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone and directed by series co-creator Sam Zvibleman, "PEN15: Season 2" is due to premiere on September 18th, only on Hulu. Watch the trailer, above.
