He was gone. But he got a little bored. So, now, he's back!

Check out the official trailer for Season 5 of the cult Netflix supernatural series "Lucifer."

Based on the DC Vertigo comic book character created by Neil Gaiman, "Lucifer" is a darkly satirical LA detective series starring British actor Tom Ellis as the titular "the Lord of Hell."

The series originally ran for three seasons on the FOX network before Netflix decided to pick it up. The streaming company has already ordered a sixth and final season of the Tom Kapinos-produced series.

Season 5 -- which will consist of 16 episodes, possibly to be released in two parts -- will find Lucifer (Ellis) returning to Los Angeles where he ran a nightclub and worked as a consultant for the LAPD.

But something is a little strange about Lucifer's sudden reappearance. Is this the real Lucifer -- or perhaps his twin brother, Michael?

The series also stars Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, and Aimee Garcia.

"Lucifer: Season 5" is premiering on August 21st only on Netflix.
