Check out the official extended commercial for Disney-Pixar's latest "Soul."

Starring comedian Jamie Foxx as the voice of a middle-school band teacher and struggling jazz musician named Joe Gardner, the upcoming animated film takes viewers on an ethereal adventure to discover the true meaning of life.

The film is co-directed and co-written by two-time Oscar-winning Pixar chief Pete Docter (Inside Out, Up), alongside writer-director Kemp Powers.

Emmy-winner Tina Fey also stars as the voice of a happy-go-lucky, blue-hued spirit named '22.'

"Soul" was originally scheduled to open in theaters this month, in June. But due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the film has been pushed back. It's now due to be released in December exclusively on Disney Plus.

synopsis:
SOUL follows Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. Joe is having that crisis that all artists have. He increasingly feels like his lifelong dream of being a jazz musician is not going to pan out and he's asking himself "Why am I here? What am I meant to be doing?"

Just when Joe thinks his dream might be in reach, a single unexpected step sends him to a fantastical place where he's is forced to think again about what it truly means to have soul. That's where he meets and ultimately teams up with 22, a soul who doesn't think life on Earth is all it's cracked up to be.

Jamie Foxx lends his voice to Joe, while Tina Fey voices 22.
