Action star Dave Bautista is a hardened CIA agent who is forced to team up with a precocious 9-year-old girl in the new family action-comedy "My Spy," for which a brand-new trailer has been released.

Clearly, in the vein of "Kindergarten Cop" and "The Pacifier," the action-comedy sees Bautista as a hard-nosed CIA operative whose skills are mostly used for brute force. He is ordered to change his tune, however, when he is assigned to go undercover and spy on the relatives of a dangerous international arms dealer.

But after a severe blunder where his cover gets temporarily blown, Bautista finds himself at the mercy of a clever 9-year-old girl who wants him to teach her how to become a professional spy. Fearing for his job, he reluctantly agrees, but under one condition: she must tell no one, including her mother, that he is a CIA spy.

Directed by Peter Segal (Get Smart, Tommy Boy) and written by Jon and Erich Hoeber (Red, The Meg), the film also stars Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies) as the main little girl; Parisa Fitz-Henley (Fantasy Island) as the girl's mother, and comedian Kristen Schaal as Bautista's CIA sidekick partner.

"My Spy" was originally set to be released in theaters back in March but was delayed due to the COVID-19 quarantine. And after renegotiating a new distribution agreement, the film is now set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, June 26th.

synopsis:
MY SPY follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ's cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie's disarming charm and wit.
