Though it's not slated to be released until sometime next year, an early sneak-peek clip has been unveiled from the forthcoming Zack Snyder's "Justice League," the eagerly-anticipated director's cut version of the 2017 DC superhero movie.

The clip, featuring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman, offers the first look at DC supervillain Darkseid, who was originally intended to appear in the 2017 superhero movie but was removed in favor of another comic book supervillain Steppenwolf.

About a month ago, director Zack Snyder made the surprise announcement that his long-rumored extended "Justice League" director's cut (often referred to as "The Snyder Cut") will, indeed, be released on the newly minted streaming platform, HBO MAX.

Though an official release date has not been revealed, "The Snyder Cut" is expected to premiere sometime in 2021 on HBO MAX.

Snyder also recently stated that he will be working with a sizeable budget to complete several new scenes mostly dealing with special effects. Though no actors from the original cast are expected to be brought back to do reshoots.

Snyder originally left the 2017 film during the last stages of production due to personal family issues. "Avengers" filmmaker Joss Whedon was brought in to complete the film. The result was a critically-panned "Justice League" movie that bombed at the box office. Since then, diehard Zack Snyder fans have called for Warner Bros to release the Snyder Cut, which many believed was merely a myth. An online campaign had gained steam in recent years, seemingly influencing HBO Max's decision to restore Snyder's original vision of his "Justice League" movie.
