The first official 30-second commercial has been released for "Tenet," Christopher Nolan's much-buzzed-about action film starring BlacKkKlansman's John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.

The forthcoming film -- which also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clemence Poesy, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Martin Donovan -- has been described as an espionage action-thriller, in which Washington plays an operative who is recruited to join a covert agency.

Washington's character soon learns that someone has "manufactured" a global terror threat "in the future" and he must use a new radical time-reversal process called "inversion" to prevent World War III.

Due to be released this summer, "Tenet" has not changed its theatrical release date since the start of the nationwide quarantine. However, this new promo spot does not declare a specific release date, other than to say that the movie is "coming to theaters" presumably soon.
