Disney has released a new official "special look" preview for the upcoming kid-friendly action-adventure movie "Artemis Fowl," which is premiering next month on the new streaming platform, Disney Plus.
Based on the first installment of the best-selling fantasy book series by Eoin Colfer, the film stars newcomer Ferdia Shaw as a brilliant twelve-year-old boy whose genius skills are put to the test when his master-thief father (played by Colin Farrell) is suddenly kidnapped by evil magical creatures, which forces the young lad to recruit a team of unique individuals to rescue his father and save the world.
The film is directed by esteemed British actor/filmmaker Kenneth Branagh, who previously helmed the hit murder-mystery drama "Murder on the Orient Express" and the Marvel superhero smash "Thor."
Josh Gad, Nonzo Anozie, Hong Chau, and Judi Dench co-star.
Originally scheduled to open in theaters in May, "Artemis Fowl" has now been reshuffled by Disney, and it will premiere exclusively on Disney's new streaming service, Disney Plus, starting on June 12th.
