Katie Holmes and Josh Lucas form an unexpected friendship in the official trailer for the upcoming romantic melodrama "The Secret: Dare to Dream."

The film is inspired by Rhonda Byrne's best-selling self-help book "The Secret," which itself is based on the belief of the law of attraction.

Andy Tennant, the director of the hit romantic films "Hitch" and "Sweet Home Alabama," directs and writes.

The movie tells a fictional story of a struggling mother of three (played by Holmes) whose life is transformed when she meets a mysterious, charismatic man (played by Lucas) who believes in the karmic power of positive thinking, specifically the three-step process of asking, believing, and then receiving.

Co-starring Jerry O'Connell and Celia Weston, "The Secret: Dare to Dream" is hitting theaters later in the year.
