"Captain America" star Anthony Mackie takes over the lead role of badass mercenary Takeshi Kovacs in the all-new, second season of Netflix's cyberpunk action series "Altered Carbon," for which an official trailer has been released.
Set 360 years in the future where people's memories and consciousness can be stored and also transferred into human or synthetic bodies called "sleeves," the sci-fi series is based on Richard K. Morgan's novel of the same name.
Created and executive produced by "Alita: Battle Angel" co-writer Laeta Kalogridis, the show follows a skilled mercenary who has been resurrected and given a new body in order to investigate the murder of the wealthiest man on Earth.
In this new season, Mackie takes over the lead from "Suicide Squad" star Joel Kinnaman. The rest of the cast includes Renee Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner with a guest appearance by Will Yun Lee as Takeshi Kovacs's first human body.
"Altered Carbon: Season 2" premieres February 27th, only on Netflix.
