A young woman searches for her missing father in this steampunk-infused fantasy-adventure movie from Russian director Aleksandr Boguslavsky (Beyond the Edge).

Starring Georgian-born model-actress Tinatin Dalakishvili in the title role, the sci-fi film is set in a closed city where citizens have been placed under military quarantine due to a mysterious disease.

After being raised under an oppressive system for most of her life, a young village woman named Abigail (Dalakishvili) embarks on a journey in search of her long-lost father. In doing so, she uncovers a conspiracy that may reach beyond the borders of the city.

Director Aleksandr Boguslavsky also co-wrote the film with Dmitriy Zhigalov. The cast also includes Rinal Mukhametov, Ravshana Kurkova, Gleb Bochkov, and Artyom Tkachenko with a special guest appearance by British character actor Eddie Marsan.

Abigail will be making its US debut next month, hitting Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Platforms on March 17th. Watch the official U.S. trailer, above.

synopsis:
When townspeople start dying from a mysterious illness, Abigail's town closes itself off from the outside world and takes away everyone infected with the disease, including Abigail's beloved father, to be executed. Ten years later, as she's trying to escape the town's security forces, Abby uncovers a shocking truth -- her father may still be alive.

Filled with danger and discoveries, Abby sets out on a magical steampunk adventure that overturns everything she once knew about the world, her family and even herself.
