Family takes on a whole new meaning as we see Vin Diesel's former street race driver Dominic Toretto sharing a tender moment with his young son in the first official trailer for "F9: The Fast Saga," the forthcoming ninth chapter in the popular action film series from Universal Studios.

Action director Justin Lin has returned to the car-driven franchise for the first time since helming 2013's "Fast & Furious 6."

And this time around, the film will begin with a bit of a time jump as Dominic and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) appear to be more focused on raising their now toddler-aged son "Little Brian," rather than going on dangerous high-velocity car missions with their chosen family of gearheads. Of course, they are pulled back into action after a hiatus, which sees them going up against someone from Dom's past.

In addition to Diesel and Rodriguez, among those who are also coming back to the franchise are Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jason Tobin, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren.

Meanwhile, WWE superstar-turned-actor John Cena is the latest big-name talent to be added to the cast. He is playing a "master thief, an assassin, and a high-performance driver" who just so happens to be Dom's little evil brother.

And if that's not a big enough of a surprise for ya ... well, how 'bout this: Han (Sung Kang) is back from the dead!

"F9: The Fast Saga" is due to open worldwide in the summer of 2021. Watch the trailer, above.
