Mo is back baby! Don Cheadle reprises his Emmy-nominated role of wall-street wild-man Maurice "Mo" Monroe in the upcoming Season 2 of Showtime's 80s-set comedy "Black Monday," for which an official trailer has been released.
Executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the darkly comic retro series centers on three unconventional wall-street hotshots, played by Cheadle, Regina Hall, and Andrew Rannells.
Set in the aftermath of one of the worst stock market crashes in history, known as "Black Monday," Season 2 will find Cheadle's "Mo" laying low and licking his wounds after suffering from a damaging blow that may have cost him his career. Though, Mo is currently staging a surprise comeback.
Co-created and co-written by David Caspe (creator of "Happy Endings" and "Marry Me") and Jordan Cahan (producer-writer of "Marry Me"), "Black Monday" co-stars Paul Scheer, Casey Wilson, Ken Marino, Dru Hill, and Yassir Lester.
The series returns with its Second Season on March 15th, only on Showtime.
synopsis:
Season One of the series followed Maurice "Mo" Monroe (Don Cheadle) as he and his group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of 1987 Wall Street, ultimately leading to the largest stock market crash in history, AKA Black Monday. Friends became enemies, traders became traitors, and two people became dead.
This season focuses on the aftermath: As we begin, Dawn (Regina Hall) and Blair (Andrew Rannells) are the bosses now, quickly learning that heavy is the head that wears the crown, especially when that head is constantly looking over its shoulder for Mo, who's on the run with Keith (Paul Scheer). Who will go down for the crash? Who will go down for the murders? Who will go down for fleecing Mo? All will be revealed in season two.
