A new official trailer has been released for the eagerly anticipated DC comic book movie "Birds of Prey," starring Margot Robbie as The Joker's psychotic ex-sidekick / ex-girlfriend Harley Quinn.

Set after the events of 2016's "Suicide Squad," we see Harley Quinn has just broken up with the Joker and is now marked for death.

"Now that I've cut ties with Mister J," says Harley in the above trailer. "I'm about to learn that a lot of people want me dead. And at the top of that list ... is this guy." (Referring to the Black Mask, who is a ruthless Gotham crime lord played here by Ewan McGregor.)

In the film, Harley Quinn teams up with Gotham vigilantes, the Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), hard-nosed Gotham detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) and a young pick-pocketing runaway girl named Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco). Each woman has a personal stake to see Black Mask dead. And each woman needs a squad of their own to see that come true.

Chinese-American filmmaker Cathy Yan, who previously made 2018's Sundance-winning foreign drama "Dead Pigs," directed this DC action film from a script by "Bumblebee" scribe Christina Hodson.

"Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" is due to hit theaters on February 7th.
