To help ring in the new year, Paramount Pictures has just unveiled its first sneak peek of 2020.

Check out the official full-length trailer for the hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror blockbuster "A Quiet Place," which is once again starring Emily Blunt as a lionhearted mother trying to keep her children safe in a post-apocalyptic world that's teeming with sound-sensitive monsters.

John Krasinski (Blunt's real-life husband) is once again behind the camera, serving as director and writer of this upcoming sci-fi horror sequel.

This time around, we find Evelyn Abbott (Blunt) and her young children (again played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) stepping out into uncharted territory. And for the first time since "Day 1" of the apocalypse, they are getting to see what the world has become. And it's a hostile and dangerous place with people who may be equally hostile and dangerous. No one is to be trusted.

Cillian Murphy (Dunkirk, 28 Days Later) and Djimon Hounsou (Shazam!, Captain Marvel) join the cast as new post-apocalyptic survivors.

"A Quiet Place: Part II" is currently scheduled to open in theaters in 2021. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
