A Japanese investigator teams up with a British detective to search and find his estranged yakuza-connected brother who is now wanted for murder and hiding out in London.

Check out the official trailer for Netflix's new Japanese-British series "Giri / Haji," which stars Takehiro Hira (Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai), Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire), Yosuke Kubozuka (Silence), Will Sharpe (Sherlock), and Charlie Creed-Miles (The Fifth Element).

Hailing from the producers of HBO's acclaimed miniseries "Chernobyl" and created and written by Joe Barton (The Ritual, My Days of Mercy), the eight-episode drama had previously aired in the U.K. back in October but will premiere in the States next month on Netflix.

Emmy-nominated English helmer Julian Farino (Entourage, Ballers) directed the first four episodes, while the last four episodes of the series are directed by Australian helmer Ben Chessell (Sucker).

Co-starring Justin Long, Sophia Brown, and Masahiro Motoki, "Giri / Haji" will start streaming on Netflix on January 10th.
