Recently nominated for three Golden Globes (Best Film, Best Director, and Best Score), "1917," the upcoming WWI epic, has received its final trailer.

Hailing from Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall), the film, shot in one, long continuous take, offers an immersive cinematic experience as it follows two young British soldiers as they cross enemy lines to deliver an urgent warning message to an army battalion of 1600 soldiers who are mere hours away from walking straight into an ambush, and likely their deaths.

The film stars George MacKay (Captain Fantastic, Private Peaceful) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones, Blinded by the Light).

Cameos include Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch as a couple of commanding officers, with Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, and Richard Madden playing British soldiers.

Academy Award-winning cinematographer Roger Deakins (Blade Runner 2049, Skyfall) is the cameraman behind the film, which was written by Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Showtime's Penny Dreadful).

"1917" is set to open in limited release on December 25th, before expanding nationwide on January 10th.

Sam Mendes, the Oscar-winning director of Skyfall, Spectre and American Beauty, brings his singular vision to his World War I epic, 1917.

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission.
