The first official teaser has been released for Season 2 of Amazon's hit superhero series "The Boys."

The ultra-violent, adult-leaning dark comedy, which is executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is based on the comic book series by "Preacher" creator Garth Ennis.

Set in a contemporary world where genetically engineered superheroes have been corrupted by fame and power, "The Boys" follows an underground team of anti-superhero vigilantes as they attempt to take down "The Seven," the world's greatest heroes who are secretly sadistic homicidal criminals.

Produced by showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural), the streaming series stars Jack Quaid (as Hughie), Karl Urban (as Billy Butcher), Laz Alonso (as Mother's Milk), Karen Fukuhara (as Kimiko), and Tomer Kapon (as Frenchie) with Antony Starr (as Homelander), Erin Moriarty (as Starlight), Chace Crawford (as The Deep), Jessie T. Usher (as A-Train) and Dominique McElligott (as Queen Maeve).

Season 2 will immediately pick up where Season 1 left off. Homelander has just learned that he has a son. And Billy Butcher has just learned his missing wife is alive. And you can expect that these revelations are likely to lead to more bloodshed and profanity.

"The Boys: Season 2" will be released sometime in 2020, only on Amazon Prime.
