Netflix has just released the official full-length trailer for "The Witcher," the much-buzzed-about medieval fantasy-horror series, which stars Henry Cavill (Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Man of Steel) as Geralt of Rivia, a traveling monster slayer for hire.

This Game of Thrones-like series is an eight-episode adaptation of the global best-selling fantasy novel series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, which has also been developed into a popular fantasy action role-playing video game.

Developed into a Netflix series by executive producer-writer-showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil, The Defenders, The Umbrella Academy), "The Witcher" is set in a medieval fantasy world and follows a lone magical warrior (Cavill) as he embarks on an epic quest to rid the kingdom of wicked monsters while joining forces with a sorceress and a young princess.

The cast also includes newcomer Freya Allan, Jodhi May (Game of Thrones), Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (The Borgias), Adam Levy (A.D. The Bible Continues), Anya Chalotra (Sherwood), and MyAnna Buring (The Descent).

The first two episodes are directed by acclaimed television helmer and Emmy-winning cinematographer Alik Sakharov (House of Cards, Ozark, Game of Thrones). Other directors on the show include Alex Garcia Lopez (Daredevil, The Punisher), Charlotte Brandstrom (The Man in the High Castle), and Marc Jobst (Daredevil, Tin Star).

"The Witcher: Season 1" is scheduled to premiere on December 20th, only on Netflix.
