Masters of Sex's Lizzy Caplan and Shawshank Redemption's Tim Robbins have joined Season 2 of Hulu's Stephen King-inspired horror anthology series "Castle Rock," for which a new official full-length trailer has been released.

Caplan is taking on the role of Annie Wilkes, the psychopathic nurse from King's classic horror novel "Misery," which itself was adapted into a classic 1990 horror movie that starred Kathy Bates as Annie.

Meanwhile, Robbins is playing Reginald "Pop" Merrill, a junk shop owner who is also the dying head of a crime family. The "Pop" character was pulled from one of King's novellas, called "The Sun Dog."

Executive produced by King and J.J. Abrams, "Castle Rock" takes place in the titular Maine town that was the fictional setting of many of Stephen King's novels. The series also features many of King's favorite literary characters, and telling new original stories set in a King-centric multiverse.

"Eighth Grade" breakout Elsie Fisher co-stars in this new season as Joy Wilkes, the teenage daughter of Annie Wilkes. The cast also includes Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) and Yusra Warsama (The Last Days on Mars) with appearances by Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes).

"Castle Rock: Season 2" will premiere Wednesday, October 23rd, only on Hulu.

synopsis:
A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, CASTLE ROCK combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.

The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King's literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock.

CASTLE ROCK is an original suspense/thriller -- a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), Stephen King's nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
