Hulu has released the first official teaser trailer for Season 2 of "Castle Rock," in which Lizzy Caplan (star of Showtime's "Masters of Sex") takes on the role of Annie Wilkes, the psychopathic nurse from Stephen King's classic horror novel "Misery," which was famously adapted into a 1990 horror movie starring Kathy Bates and James Caan.
Set in the titular Maine town that was the fictional setting of many of Stephen King's novels, and featuring many of his favorite literary characters, "Castle Rock" is a horror anthology series set in "the Stephen King multiverse."
The Hulu series is executive produced by King and J.J. Abrams and was created by the writing and producing team of Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason (creators of the short-lived historical series "Manhattan").
In addition to Caplan, Season 2 will star "Eighth Grade" breakout Elsie Fisher as Joy Wilkes, the teenage daughter of Annie Wilkes.
Oscar-winner and "Shawshank Redemption" actor Tim Robbins is also co-starring as Reginald "Pop" Merrill, a junk shop owner who is also the dying head of a crime family. His character pulled from one of King's novellas, called "The Sun Dog."
Other cast members of Season 2 include Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) and Yusra Warsama (The Last Days on Mars) with appearances by Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes).
"Castle Rock: Season 2" is set to premiere October 23rd, only on Hulu.
