A young suburban couple's life is thrown into turmoil when their remote-controlled drone inexplicably turns into a flying killing machine.

Check out the official trailer for "The Drone," the new zany horror comedy from the makers of "Zombeavers" and "Critters: A New Binge."

John Brotherton (Fuller House, Furious 7) and Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes, Midnighters) star as newlyweds who, after moving into a new house together, are surprised to discover a discarded drone inside their garbage can. While happy to salvage the flying gadget, they soon suspect something is seriously off with the drone. It may have something to do with the fact that the drone has a mind of its own! Well, not just any mind -- it possesses the demented mind of a serial killer!

Directed by Jordan Rubin and co-written by Rubin and screenwriting brothers Jon and Al Kaplan (they're the team behind "Zombeavers" and "Critters: A New Binge"), the film also co-stars Rex Linn, Simon Rex, Anita Briem, and Neil Sandilands.

After premiering at this year's Slamdance, "The Drone" is being released on DVD and Digital on October 15th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
This terrifying, outrageous tale takes flight as a serial killer is struck by lightning while holding his precious drone. Weeks later, the drone shows up at the home of newlywed couple Chris (John Brotherton) and Rachel (Alex Essoe). Without them realizing it, the drone films the couple and takes control of their TV, computer, security system, and car. Soon Chris and Rachel fear that the device may be connected to them... and is out for horrific, hovering revenge.
