HBO has released the official Comic-Con trailer for "Westworld: Season 3," giving fans an early peek at the eagerly-awaited return of the critically acclaimed sci-fi series from creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, inspired by the cult Michael Crichton sci-fi film.

Emmy-winning "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul joins the cast of Westworld's new season, playing a small-time thief who winds up joining forces with rogue android host Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) who, since venturing into the real world for the first time in her life, is out to destroy humanity.

"I thought your world would be so different from mine," Dolores says in the above preview. "There's no difference at all, is there?"

We also see actor Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games, Bond 25) has come back as android programmer Bernard. Fearing what Dolores could do to the outside world, Bernard appears to have activated badass android host Maeve (once again played here by Emmy-winner Thandie Newton).

"I came back to find someone who could help me," Bernard says. "Someone strong enough to stop her if it comes to that."

Tessa Thompson (Avengers: Endgame, Men in Black: International) is also back as the android version of executive director Charlotte Hale, who is now a loyal partner to Dolores.

Among those who are also returning to the series are Luke Hemsworth, Rodrigo Santoro, and Ed Harris, while new additions include Lena Waithe, Marshawn Lynch, Kid Cudi, and Vincent Cassel.

Executive produced by J.J. Abrams, "Westworld: Season 3" is scheduled for a 2020 release on HBO.
