Steve Coogan plays a controversial, yet popular political radio show host in the official trailer for "Hot Air."

Co-starring Neve Campbell (House of Cards), Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Walking Dead), and Judith Light (Transparent), the film centers on Lionel Macomb (Coogan), a divisive, loudmouthed political radio host who is forced to reevaluate his life and career when he reunites and forms a close relationship with his estranged 16-year-old niece (played by Taylor Russell, from the Netflix series "Lost in Space").

The film marks a rare dramatic effort from director Frank Coraci, who is best known for directing the Adam Sandler blockbusters "The Wedding Singer," "Click," "The Ridiculous 6," and "The Waterboy."

"Hot Air" is being released in select theaters and on VOD beginning on August 23rd. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Popular right-wing radio host Lionel Macomb (Steve Coogan) has his perfect world turned upside down when his 16-year-old niece, Tess (Taylor Russell), shows up seeking help with a family crisis.

In Tess, Lionel has finally met his match: a smart, determined, brazenly honest sparring partner who forces Lionel to confront the complicated family he left behind. As this unexpected bond develops, Lionel must decide whether to rethink the power of his words and his legacy. Will he open himself up to a new kind of responsibility and connection?
