Starz has released the official trailer for "The Rook," a new, supernatural-tinged spy thriller series that's based on the genre-bending novel by sci-fi writer Daniel O'Malley.
Emma Greenwell (from the Hulu series "The Path" and the Showtime series "Shameless") stars as Myfanwy Thomas, a baffled British woman who wakes up lying next to a pile of dead bodies with no memory of who she is. She soon learns that she was once a high-ranking member of a secret government organization, serving as a spy agent with special paranormal abilities called "EVA (Extreme Variant Abilities)." She will have to figure out who was responsible for wiping her memory clean and why they now want her dead.
Executive produced by showrunners Lisa Zwerling (ER, When We Rise) and Karyn Usher (Bones, Prison Break), working alongside producer Stephen Garrett (The Night Manager, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), the eight-episode Starz thriller also co-stars Joely Richardson (Red Sparrow), Olivia Munn (The Predator), and Adrian Lester (Mary Queen of Scots).
"The Rook: Season 1" debuts Sunday, June 30th on Starz.
