A brand-new trailer has been released for the forthcoming Showtime miniseries "The Loudest Voice," which features the on-screen pairing of Australian Oscar-winner Russell Crowe and Australian Oscar-nominee Naomi Watts as controversial Fox News creator Roger Ailes and Fox anchor Gretchen Carlson, who was the first to file a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes, sparking a nationwide scandal which ultimately ended his career.

Based on Gabriel Sherman's best-selling investigative book "The Loudest Voice In The Room," the seven-episode drama chronicles the rise and fall of Ailes, who was solely responsible for turning the Fox News network into a ratings powerhouse and, in doing so, re-shaped America's political landscape.

The cast also includes Simon McBurney as FOX mogul Rupert Murdoch; Sienna Miller as Roger's wife, Beth Ailes; Seth MacFarlane as Ailes' right-hand man, Fox executive Brian Lewis, and Annabelle Wallis as Fox News booker Laurie Luhn.

Various episodes have been directed by Emmy-nominated helmer Jeremy Podeswa (Game of Thrones) and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Frears (The Queen), while Emmy-nominated director Kari Skogland (The Handmaid's Tale, Vikings) directed the first two hour-long episodes.

"The Loudest Voice" debuts Sunday, June 30th on Showtime.

synopsis:
In today's politically charged media landscape, no figure looms larger, even after his passing, than Roger Ailes, molding Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government. To understand the events that led to the rise of Donald Trump, one must understand Ailes.

Based on extensive reporting by Gabriel Sherman for his bestselling book, "The Loudest Voice In The Room," the upcoming limited series takes on that challenge, focusing primarily on the past decade in which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party's de facto leader, while also touching on defining events in Ailes' life, including an initial meeting with Richard Nixon on the set of The Mike Douglas Show that gave birth to Ailes' political career and including the sexual harassment accusations and settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end.

Told through multiple points of view, the limited series aims to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down.
