Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino returns with fists raised and teeth bared as he offers his fans a darkly satirical, raucous depiction of the final days of the late 1960s Hollywood studio system, which is told through the lens of a "has-been" television and film action star, named Rick Dalton, and his aging stunt double, Cliff Booth (played here by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt).

Check out the new official trailer for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," Tarantino's much-anticipated ninth film. It's essentially a love letter to 1969 Hollywood when Los Angeles was going through a weird transitional period as the hippie-dippie counterculture movement was about to take a really, really dark turn, thanks in part to Charles Manson and his homicidal family.

In addition to DiCaprio and Pitt, the film also stars Margot Robbie as model/actress Sharon Tate, a rising starlet who at the time was married to filmmaker Roman Polanski. (She is also known, tragically, for being one of Manson's murdered victims.)

Al Pacino co-stars in the film, as well, playing a big-time Hollywood producer who loves action scenes with plenty of gun violence. Australian character actor Damon Herriman appears as Charles Manson, while Dakota Fanning, Lena Dunham, and Rumer Willis each play a Manson girl.

The film is jam packed with guest stars, including Kurt Russell, Timothy Olyphant, Luke Perry, Margaret Qualley, Bruce Dern, Clifton Collins Jr., and Scoot McNairy, with Mike Moh portraying Bruce Lee.

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is making its world premiere this week at the Cannes Film Festival. It's currently scheduled to open in theaters July 26th.
