The official trailer has been released for "Downton Abbey," the forthcoming big-screen version of the Emmy-winning British period television drama about the social dynamics of an early-20th century aristocratic family in England and their downstairs servants.

A revival of the PBS series created by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park), which ran for six seasons from 2010 to 2015, the film takes place in 1927 and revolves around the impending arrival of King George V and Queen Mary as the Crawleys family rehires retired head butler Charles Carson to manage their household.

Directed by three-time Emmy-nominated television director Michael Engler (Downton Abbey, Sex and the City, 30 Rock), the movie features most of the original cast, including Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Matthew Goode, Tuppence Middleton, Brendan Coyle, Imelda Staunton, and Penelope Wilton, among others.

Written by Fellowes, "Downton Abbey" is hitting U.S. theaters on September 20th.
