The official trailer has been released for Season 2 of "Strange Angel," the CBS original web series from executive producer Ridley Scott, which stars Jack Reynor (from the upcoming "Midsommar"), Bella Heathcote (from "The Man in the High Castle"), and former "Homeland" star Rupert Friend.

The WWII-set period drama is loosely based on the stranger-than-fiction life story of Jack Whiteside Parsons, a brilliant engineer and rocketeer who notoriously joined an underground L.A. black-magic sex cult while working on the first U.S. government-sanctioned jet propulsion research program in 1940s Pasadena, California. Ultimately, Jack and his wife, Susan (who are played in the series by Reynor and Heathcote), became disciples of famed black-magic occultist Aleister Crowley.

Created by "Black Swan" screenwriter Mark Heyman, "Strange Angel" is due to return on Thursday, June 13th, exclusively on the streaming service CBS All Access.

synopsis:
In season two, the U.S. is fully engaged in World War II, transforming Jack's rocketry work into a lucrative business and further entrenching him in the military-industrial complex. While Jack's career takes off, he and his wife Susan's devotion to their new occult religion grows, leading them to invite the sex cult into their Pasadena mansion and Jack to forge a personal relationship with the group's notorious founder, Aleister Crowley himself.
