Former SNL cast member Nasim Pedrad, who will appear this month as Princess Jasmine's handmaiden in Disney's live-action adaptation of "Aladdin," has just gotten her own comedy series. Though you may not recognize her at first.

In the upcoming TBS comedy "Chad," the Iranian-American comedienne (who recently co-starred in the TBS sitcom "People of Earth" and also the FOX shows "Scream Queens" and "New Girl") has completely disguised herself to portray a socially awkward 14-year-old Persian boy who vows to become popular as he starts his first year of high school.

The series is created by Pedrad and is loosely inspired by her own experience being raised in a suburban neighborhood as one of the only Muslim-Persian kids in her school.

"Chad" is being released later in the year, only on TBS. Watch the newly-released teaser trailer, above.

synopsis:
CHAD follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Nasim Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad's friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother's new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity.
