A week after the airing of Game of Thrones' final episode, HBO is planning to premiere a two-hour making-of documentary special called "Game of Thrones: The Last Watch," which is going to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at how they made the heart-breaking, history-making final season of the beloved George R. R. Martin-created medieval fantasy series.

"This is strange," says series co-creator/show-runner D. B. Weiss in the newly-released trailer for the upcoming documentary. "Here we are at the last table read. It's like looking around and seeing your family."

The documentary special chronicles every step of production as cast and crew endure the frigid temperatures of Northern Ireland's winter to shoot epic battle sequences during night, as well as emotional farewell scenes of fan-favorite characters.

"That was Emilia's last shot on 'Game of Thrones'," says a production manager in the above clip, while we see actress Emilia Clarke looking anguish as she walks off the set for the last time as Daenerys Targaryen.

Commissioned by HBO, British documentarian Jeanie Finlay (Orion: The Man Who Would Be King, The Great Hip Hop Hoax) directs the two-hour behind-the-scenes special, which is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, May 26th on HBO, a week after the final episode airs on Sunday, May 19th.

From director Jeanie Finlay, a farewell to Westeros with the people who built the realm.
