A once-famous successful Seattle architect and now-mother of a 15-year-old, Bernadette Fox, suddenly disappears and leaves her family behind for a life-changing trip to Antarctica.

Check out the new official trailer for "Where'd You Go, Bernadette," the latest offering from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Richard Linklater (Boyhood, School of Rock), in which Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett plays Bernadette, a complicated, frustrated woman in the midst of a midlife funk who seeks to "launch her second act" in life by working on a secret engineering project in Antarctica.

Newcomer Emma Nelson plays Bernadette's precocious teenage daughter, who, along with her father (played by Billy Crudup), tries to track down her mother by following a paper trail that includes her emails, documents, and private memos.

Co-starring Laurence Fishburne and Judy Greer with former SNL comedienne Kristen Wiig as an annoyed next-door neighbor, the bitter-sweet comedy is based on the 2012 best-selling novel of the same name by author Maria Semple.

"Where'd You Go, Bernadette" is slated for an August 16th theatrical release. Watch the trailer, above.
