The Lodge — Official Trailer

From the cult directors of the acclaimed Austrian spine-chiller "Goodnight Mommy" comes a new horror thriller about young suspicious children and a stepmother with a dark past.

Check out the official trailer for "The Lodge," this year's Sundance horror sensation starring Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road, Hold the Dark) as a stepmother-to-be who finds herself snowed in and trapped in a remote cabin with her two young soon-to-be stepchildren. Her past is soon dredged up, revealing that she was once a follower of a doomsday religious cult (think Heaven's Gate), in which members committed mass suicide.

Co-starring Richard Armitage (The Hobbit Films), Jaeden Lieberher (It, Midnight Special), Lia McHugh (TV's American Woman), and Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), "The Lodge" is the English language debut of Austrian filmmakers Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, who are the writing-and-directing duo behind the Austrian cosmetic surgery horror "Goodnight Mommy."

After making a huge splash earlier this year at Sundance, "The Lodge" is now slated for a theatrical fall release. Watch the trailer, above.

THE LODGE follows two siblings who are snowed in with Grace, the younger woman that their separated father plans to marry. Just as the kids begin to warm to their stepmother-to-be, events intercede and threaten to dig up psychological demons from Grace's childhood as a member of a religious cult.
