Part disaster movie, part there's-something-in-the-water horror. Just when you thought it was safe to save your father from a category five hurricane, yet you soon find yourself stuck in a rapidly flooding house with a giant killer alligator swimming in the basement. Yikes!

Check out the first official trailer for "Crawl," a Florida-set hurricane disaster movie that quickly turns into a killer-alligator horror thriller.

It stars Kaya Scodelario (from "The Maze Runner" film series and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales") and Barry Pepper (from "Saving Private Ryan" and "Maze Runner" 2 & 3) as a courageous daughter and a badly injured father who find themselves in rising flood waters, trapped inside a flooded house where a large terrifying alligator is lurking freely.

The horror thriller is brought to you by producer Sam Raimi and Alexandre Aja, the French-born horror director of "High Tension," "The Hills Have Eyes" remake, and "Piranha 3D."

Written by Michael Rasmussen & Shawn Rasmussen (John Carpenter's The Ward), "Crawl" is scheduled to hit theaters this summer, starting July 12th.

synopsis:
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father (Barry Pepper). Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.
