In the new, upcoming Netflix original film "Good Sam," "The Good Place" actress Tiya Sircar stars as a local television news reporter who is tasked with investigating the inspirational, feel-good story of an unidentified mystery person who has been dropping off large duffel bags of free cash on the doorsteps of random New Yorkers.

Who is this good samaritan? And has this person just started a new philanthropic movement?

The Netflix movie is written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Kate Melville, who previously made the 2012 Canadian coming-of-age film "Picture Day," which starred a young Tatiana Maslany. Melville also wrote several episodes of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and an episode of "Orphan Black."

Co-starring Jesse Camacho, Mark Camacho, Elana Dunkelman, Kenny Wong, Daniela Sandiford, Brittany Drisdelle, and Chad Connell, "Good Sam" premieres May 16th on Netflix.
