Though it's been more than a decade since we last saw them, brothel/saloon proprietor Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), noble lawman Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant), and shady businessman/politician George Hearst (Gerald McRaney) are finally back on HBO!

And it's like nothing has changed. They are still a bunch of miserable old pricks. And they are once again fighting over the control of an old western town that's riddled with chaos and corruption.

Check out the new official full-length trailer for the long-awaited, long-in-the-works "Deadwood" movie from Emmy-winning creator David Milch.

While featuring most of the original cast members (McShane, Olyphant, McRaney, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens, Sean Bridgers, W. Earl Brown, Keone Young, etc.), the special HBO movie is set ten years after the events of the season three finale of the critically acclaimed, profanity-laden western series.

The year is 1889. South Dakota is on the verge of statehood. Swearengen (McShane) and Bullock (Olyphant) form a temporary alliance when now-California senator George Hearst (McRaney) returns to Deadwood to settle a score.

The HBO drama, which ended its run back in 2006, is inspired by a real-life 19th-century gold mining town in South Dakota, and most of the characters on the show were also based on real people, which included Swearengen, Bullock, Hearst, Charlie Utter, Sol Star, Calamity Jane, and E. B. Farnum, among others.

Acclaimed TV director/producer Daniel Minahan (Game of Thrones, The Assassination of Gianni Versace) directs "Deadwood: The Movie," which is set to premiere Friday, May 31st on HBO. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
