Netflix has released the official trailer for Season 4 of the darkly comic fantasy-horror series "Lucifer," which had been canceled last year by Fox after three seasons but was later picked up and saved by the streaming company.

Based on the DC Vertigo comic book character created by legendary fantasy writer Neil Gaiman, the series centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the Devil, who leaves Hell for the City of Angels. Lucifer eventually winds up running a high-end L.A. nightclub. He also starts helping out homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) as a civilian consultant.

Featuring ten new episodes, Season 4 will see Lucifer reuniting with his old flame, the beautiful Eve (Inbar Lavi), who was famously expelled from the Garden of Eden for succumbing to Lucifer's temptation to eat the forbidden fruit. However, this means that every time Lucifer and Eve get together, evil is soon unleashed, destroying everything in its wake.

Executive produced by Tom Kapinos (Californication) and co-starring Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Rachael Harris, D. B. Woodside, and Kevin Alejandro, "Lucifer" returns with its Fourth Season on May 8th, exclusively on Netflix, while Seasons 1-3 are currently available to stream.

synopsis:
Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer: Season 4: Reeling from the aftermath of Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) seeing his devil face, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) faces a new challenge: Eve (Inbar Lavi), the original sinner herself, is back. Does she want revenge for when he tempted her out of Eden oh so many years ago... or something else entirely?
