John Travolta is a hard-living, hard-drinking Hollywood private eye who is hired to return to his old hometown of Galveston, Texas to search for a young missing woman with ties to a local crime boss (Morgan Freeman) in "The Poison Rose."

The film, which also stars Famke Janssen, Brendan Fraser, Peter Stormare, Kat Graham, and Robert Patrick, is an old-school detective thriller with shades of classic noir and smoky southern-fried mysteries.

From filmmaker George Gallo, who is perhaps best known as the screenwriter of the classic Robert De Niro-Charles Grodin crime movie "Midnight Run." He also penned the original story for the blockbuster franchise "Bad Boys."

"The Poison Rose" is hitting select theaters and VOD starting May 24th. Watch the newly-released trailer, above.

John Travolta plays Carson Philips, a hard-drinking L.A. private eye who takes a case in his old hometown of Galveston, Texas.
