"Back up, boy!" Will Smith needs some room to work his magic in the new extended commercial for "Aladdin."

Disney's classic animated musical has just turned into a live-action spectacle, and Will Smith, playing a wisecracking magical genie, has the power to transform Aladdin, a poor street urchin, into a prince, so he can win the heart of a beautiful princess named Jasmine.

"I made you look like a prince on the outside," says Smith's Genie in the above preview. "But I didn't change anything on the inside."

Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud (from the Hulu series "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan") stars in the title role as a charismatic street scavenger who, because of the magic of a blue, wish-giving genie, assumes the fictitious identity of Prince Ali.

Smith's Genie continues to give Aladdin some love advice: "Prince Ali got you to the door, but Aladdin has to open it."

Magic carpet ride soon ensues, followed by a familiar musical sequence featuring Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, played here by British-Indian actress Naomi Scott (from "Power Rangers" and the upcoming "Charlie's Angels" reboot).

British director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) helms this fairy-tale remake, which also co-stars Dutch-Tunisian actor Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as nefarious sorcerer Jafar, and Iranian-American comedienne Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live, Scream Queens) as Jasmine's loyal handmaiden, Dalia.

"Aladdin" is set to open theatrically on May 24th.

Update: Disney has released another extended TV spot, featuring a bit of new footage, showing off the chemistry between Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott).
