Ryan Reynolds celebrates Earth Day by releasing an Earth Day-themed trailer for his latest movie "Pokemon Detective Pikachu."
Set to the tune of "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, the montage-heavy preview offers a look inside the futuristic metropolis of Ryme City, which is populated with a colorful assortment of Pokemon creatures.
The film, the first ever live-action Pokemon movie, stars Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and features the voice of Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu. Kathryn Newton (Blockers) and Ken Watanabe (Godzilla) also co-star.
Smith plays Tim Goodman, a once-aspiring pokemon trainer who sets out to investigate the strange disappearance of his now-presumed dead father, an ex-police detective who was working as a local private-eye. While on his search, Tim meets his father's ex-partner, a yellow Pikachu creature (voiced by Reynolds) who claims to be a world-class detective. Incidentally, Tim is also the only human in Ryme City, who can fully understand what Pikachu is actually saying.
Directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps, Monsters vs. Aliens), "Pokemon Detective Pikachu" arrives in theaters May 10th.
