Jack Reynor (Sing Street, Transformers: Age of Extinction) plays a 1940s rocket propulsion engineer who secretly moonlights as a black magic occultist in the CBS streaming series "Strange Angel," for which an official teaser trailer has been released for its forthcoming second season.

The web drama, which also stars Rupert Friend (Homeland) and Bella Heathcote (The Man in the High Castle), is inspired by the real-life story of Jack Whiteside Parsons, a brilliant rocket scientist and pioneering rocketeer who was enlisted to work on the first U.S. government-sanctioned jet propulsion research program in Pasadena, California, where incidentally he fell into an underground L.A. black-magic sex cult, ultimately becoming a disciple of famed occultist Aleister Crowley.

Based on George Pendle's biographical book "Strange Angel: The Otherworldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons," the CBS series is executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott and is created and written by "Black Swan" scribe Mark Heyman.

"Strange Angel: Season 2" premieres Thursday, June 13th, only on the streaming service CBS All Access.

synopsis:
In season two, the U.S. is fully engaged in World War II, transforming Jack's rocketry work into a lucrative business and further entrenching him in the military-industrial complex. While Jack's career takes off, he and his wife Susan's devotion to their new occult religion grows, leading them to invite the sex cult into their Pasadena mansion and Jack to forge a personal relationship with the group's notorious founder, Aleister Crowley himself.
