HBO's Emmy-and-Golden Globe-winning series "Big Little Lies" is returning this June with its second season, and the network has unveiled an official teaser trailer.

Executive produced and written by Emmy-winner David E. Kelley (Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, The Practice), the television drama once again stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz.

Based on Liane Moriarty's best-selling novel of the same name, the HBO drama, which was originally touted as a miniseries, is centered on the so-called perfect lives of several working mothers of first graders in a gossip-crazed, beachside community.

Season 1 revolved around a mysterious murder investigation in which the mothers were implicated. Season 2 will be set in the aftermath of that investigation.

Oscar-winner Meryl Streep has joined the cast of Season 2, playing a grieving mother who is determined to uncover the truth about her son's death.

Acclaimed British filmmaker Andrea Arnold (American Honey, Wuthering Heights, Fish Tank) directs the entire new season, which contains seven episodes.

"Big Little Lies: Season 2" premieres Sunday, June 9th on HBO.
