Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — Official Teaser Trailer

added: Fri, Apr 12th '19

It's the moment "Star Wars" fans have been anticipating -- to view the first ever peek at J.J. Abrams' final chapter of the George Lucas-created "Star Wars" saga.

So, without further ado, feast your eyes on the first official teaser trailer for "Star Wars: Episode IX," the third and final entry in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, following 2015's "The Force Awakens" and 2017's "The Last Jedi."

Fresh from its world premiere at this year's Star Wars Celebration: Chicago, the trailer offers viewers the first footage from the grand conclusion to the ground-breaking "Star Wars" film series, which is now focusing on the heroic adventures of force-sensitive scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) -- as well as the wartime exploits of First Order leader Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who is also the dark-side villain son of the late, Han Solo and Leia Organa.

After a temporary break from the franchise, "Force Awakens" helmer J.J. Abrams is back in the director's seat, capping off a history-making run of epic space-opera films that begun with 1977's "Episode IV - A New Hope."

Also, starring John Boyega and Oscar Isaac with a special appearance by Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 20th.

"Every generation has a legend."
