To celebrate National Pet Day, Illumination Entertainment has just released the official full-length trailer for the forthcoming animated sequel "The Secret Life Of Pets 2."

The film stars comedian Patton Oswalt as the voice of Max, a neurotic Jack Russell Terrier who lives in a New York apartment with a large, boisterous, overly-excited shaggy dog named Duke (again voiced by Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet).

When the adorable toddler son of their human owner, Katie (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Ellie Kemper), unexpectedly walks off and goes missing, Max and Duke are forced to enlist the help of their pet friends to scour city streets in search of the lost child. The result is another rescue adventure filled with canine hi-jinks and new colorful animal characters.

Additionally, the film includes returning voices from Kevin Hart, as Snowball the bunny rabbit; Jenny Slate as Gidget, the white Pomeranian; Lake Bell as Chloe, the large tabby cat; Dana Carvey as Pops, the elderly Basset Hound, and Bobby Moynihan as Mel, the stocky pug.

Meanwhile, comedienne Tiffany Haddish joins the cast as the voice of Daisy, a young Shih Tzu. Harrison Ford also co-stars as the voice of Rooster, a stoic sheepdog.

"Despicable Me" and "The Secret Life of Pets" director Chris Renaud is back to helm the sequel. He's also back to voice the oft-frustrated guinea pig, Norman.
