Academy award-winning director Ron Howard explores the life and work of Italian opera legend Luciano Pavarotti in the forthcoming documentary, for which an official trailer has been released.

Famous for his big frame, booming voice, and larger-than-life personality, Pavarotti was a singing superstar throughout several decades. Not only was Pavarotti one of the most successful and popular tenors in music history, but he also became a pop cultural icon in the '80s and '90s, rubbing elbows with the world's biggest celebrities at that time.

Featuring never-before-seen footage and rare archival photos and videos, "Pavarotti" is done by the same producing team (Howard, Brian Grazer, Nigel Sinclair, Michael Rosenberg) who brought to you the Emmy-winning music documentary "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years."

Delving into some of the opera singer's most memorable live-performances and other career highlights, "Pavarotti" will open in select theaters on June 7th. Watch the official trailer, above.
