My Spy — Official Trailer

"Guardians of the Galaxy" star Dave Bautista gets to flex his comedic muscles as he plays a no-nonsense, hard-nosed CIA agent who has put himself in an odd situation where he must take orders from a precocious 9-year-old girl in the upcoming family action-comedy "My Spy."

The film, which could be described as in the vein of "Kindergarten Cop" or "The Pacifier," also stars "Big Little Lies" kid actress Chloe Coleman as the main little girl and comedian Kristen Schaal as Bautista's CIA sidekick partner.

"My Spy" is directed by comedy helmer Peter Segal, whose credits include "Get Smart," "50 First Dates," "Tommy Boy" and most recently the Jennifer Lopez vehicle "Second Act."

Written by "Red" and "The Meg" screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber, "My Spy" is coming to theaters later in the year. Watch the first official trailer, above.

MY SPY follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ's cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie's disarming charm and wit.
