The last time we saw the Walking Dead's stick-wielding survivalist Morgan Jones (Lennie James), he was hanging out with the guys and gals on the spin-off companion series, getting into all sorts of zombie-induced trouble. Now, it seems Morgan is leading his new friends toward a mindset of hope and optimism. That's until Morgan and his crew are suddenly confronted with the ghosts of their past, and the harsh realities of the zombie apocalypse.
Check out the official trailer for Season 5 of "Fear the Walking Dead," AMC's hit zombie series, which is set in the same universe (though not necessarily in the same timeline) as "The Walking Dead."
Lennie James leads the horror survival drama, which includes returning cast members Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, Mo Collins, Daryl Mitchell, and Alexa Nisenson.
Season 5 will have Morgan and company roving through a new zombie-infested southeast region of America as they cross paths with a gang of abandoned children. They will also be reunited with a couple of old, familiar faces (Ruben Blades, Daniel Sharman) -- particularly one with a bad burn scar, Dwight (Austin Amelio).
"Fear the Walking Dead: Season 5" is set to premiere June 2nd on AMC.
synopsis:
In Season 5, the group's mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what's left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan (Lennie James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts.
But trust won't be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in uncharted territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.
